Wade final %281 of 1%29

Wade Shealy

Founder, CEO and Chairman

With over 30 years in the sector, Wade Shealy is one of America’s top leaders in resort real estate development, marketing and sales. In 2010, in response to a market need to help second homeowners realize more value in their ownership, he founded and launched THIRDHOME, the industry’s premier luxury property and travel club.

Wade is recognized as the visionary force behind a series of high-profile real estate development projects. Most notably, the purchase, vision and development of Hampton Island, Georgia, an exemplary coastal community with one of the lowest impacts on the surrounding environment.

Hampton Island, a 4,000-acre private community off the Georgia coast, was cited in Robb Report’s “Best of the Best” as one of the top three private communities in North America. Hampton Island became the second home to Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Gardner, Ben Affleck, and Robert Mondavi, among other high-profile residents. The Hampton Island development was featured in numerous publications and won national awards for architecture and design.

Wade graduated from the University of Georgia equipped for his future with far more than an Honors degree. Working for straight commission, 80 hours a week with the Southwestern Company selling bibles and educational books door-to-door, prepared him early on for many years ahead of entrepreneurial leadership.

As a college student, Wade rose through the ranks to become one of the organization’s top salespeople, along the way recruiting both the largest student team and the team selling the most volume, in Southwestern’s 155-year history. As a District Sales Manager, he was named “District Sales Manager of the Year” for each of his four consecutive years in that role.

In 1984, Wade began working in resort real estate, co-founding The Pinnacle Group in 1986 and growing it into one of the largest and most successful real estate companies on Hilton Head Island and the state of South Carolina.

As Vice President of Intrawest, a premier North American mountain resort and adventure company, Wade directed sales and marketing for 12 different resorts with locations from New England to the Caribbean, successfully closing over $500 million in sales, annually. During his years in resort real estate, he developed and sold more than $3 billion in real estate.

Wade has been featured in national and international publications, most notably the Wall Street Journal and Los Angeles Times. He also enjoys returning to his alma mater, the University of Georgia, as a frequent lecturer at the Business School, as well as to the College of Environment and Design in Landscape Architecture.

Wade was instrumental in the creation of the Land Conservation Program for the State of Georgia and subsequently appointed by the Governor of Georgia, to the State Board of Land Conservation, serving for five years. Under Wade’s direction, tens of thousands of acres of pristine land were protected. He was also appointed to the state’s Marshland and Wetlands Protection Committee and voted the “Tree Friendly Developer” for the state of Georgia.

Wade lives on a horse farm outside Nashville in Franklin, Tennessee. Besides his Quarter horses, Wade also raises bees and Tilapia. Inspired by his early background in nature preservation, he designed and built a natural swimming pond on his farm, one of the first of its kind in the U.S. When he is not riding horses or traveling around the world, Wade can be found riding his Harley on the back roads of Tennessee. Wade has three children, his youngest attends Brentwood Academy in Nashville, his daughter lives in Austin, Texas, and his oldest son is a Professor of Civil Engineering at Virginia Tech.

With over 20 years of marketing experience, she brings her expertise in successfully creating, managing and executing marketing campaigns across multi channels.

Spending some of her free time reading great travel adventures, she was recently able to live out one of her own. A THIRDHOME company trip to an award-winning designed home in the lush Manuel Antonio rainforest in Costa Rica put her face to face with a two-toed sloth, howler monkeys and toucans. When not ziplining or riding ATV through the rainforest, the house staff was on hand to tend to her every need. Working at THIRDHOME has given her the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that is changing the way people think about second home ownership. When she is not busy writing and delivering the next marketing campaign, she is making sure the office is running smoothly. On her desk, you will find a steady supply of peppermints for the taking and on any given day you may find her sipping coffee from her favorite mug that captures her spirit perfectly with the simply stated phrase, ’make it happen.’

She kicked off her own travel experience by taking her first trip out of the States to New Zealand. She has also spent time in Ukraine studying abroad through Lee University, where she received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Communication. Lizzy has quite the affinity for collecting hobbies. When she’s not in the office she could be found on the back of a friend’s motorcycle, playing one of several instruments, wood burning, chainsaw carving, joy-reading textbooks, skating, trying to learn Russian, hiking, writing, at the gym, out with her camera, or… well, you get the picture.

Matt Garrett

Client Growth Manager

As THIRDHOME’s Client Growth Manager, Matt educates prospective members on the wide array of benefits provided through membership. He also walks new members through the application and approval process with great consideration for member needs and preferences. Matt is a Nashville native- a rarity after a decade’s worth of rapid growth in the city. He’s no stranger to growth, having used his entrepreneurial skills to help build two start-ups and a sales team for a turnaround company. But beyond work, Matt is a self-described VFL (Vol For Life) and isn’t afraid to show it. He played baseball at the University of Tennessee, and still roots for every Vol’s football game (when he isn’t caught up cheering on Nashville’s NFL team the Tennessee Titans). Matt’s also quite the outdoorsman with a penchant for duck hunting. Matt has been married for ten years and is the proud father of three little boys with another on the way. Matt hopes to share his passion for Tennessee football and Canadian Duck Hunting with his sons.

Dscf6258

Being fortunate enough to hold both British and New Zealand passports Peter was destined to be an enthusiastic global traveler. Something he wasted no time in pursuing upon completing his Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. Three years exploring Europe, South America and Asia interspersed with working ski seasons in North America ensured he would never lose his passion for travel or an appreciation for exceptional customer service and experiences. Something he has carried through into his professional career, firstly as an account manager and director for several multinational advertising agencies before being lured into the world of film and television, ultimately as a producer of over 40 television commercials. These days Peter is fortunate enough to live in Wanaka, a place he considers one of the most beautiful in the world. When he is not busy growing THIRDHOME’s New Zealand membership you will find him skiing, mountain biking, hunting or immersed in interior design books.

Stephen Findlay

Member Services Associate
About us coming soon pic

Stephen’s love of travel and experiencing new places is what eventually led him to Nashville and his position as a member services associate at THIRDHOME. After graduating from the University of Tampa in Florida with a degree in Communications Stephen spent time living on both coasts. He first traveled to Los Angeles California where his love of music helped him land a job working in the music video industry, and then to New York City producing shows at MTV Networks for VH1, VH1 Classic and FUSE. But it was his first trip to Europe where he spent a month backpacking through England, Italy and France where he got the travel bug that opened his eyes to the beauty of the world. Suddenly, a new-found passion was born and trips to Spain, Greece, Turkey and Hawaii were added to the list. When Stephen isn’t traveling or helping members travel you can usually find him out and about enjoying Nashville, hiking, taking pictures or strumming his guitar.

Trina Taylor

Director of Opportunities
Trinaandjaydeshoot

Trina began her corporate career at a young age in the Hedge Fund industry where she was mentored by one of the most esteemed hedge fund managers in the industry. After 10 years with the fund, working in NYC, she decided to branch out on her own and pursue her love of music. Trina would leave her high-profile job behind and move with her daughter to Nashville. Never having played an instrument, the risk was obviously great, but Trina took the music industry by storm in what industry insiders considered a short period of time. Trina was a self-taught guitar player and singer/songwriter and within two years, would be writing and working with some of the most renowned songwriters in Tennessee. She released a CD that received high ranks and rotation on college radio all the while touring the country with her band and receiving several Indy Award nominations along the way. Family life on the road with her daughter was not what she envisioned and was ready to head back into the corporate world.

Trina thrives in an environment where her contributions are not only personally fulfilling, but also fulfilling to the people around her. If you ask Trina what inspires her, she will tell you her daughter, Jayde. She is very proud of her daughter’s early accomplishments and watching as she pursues her own dreams as a professional body builder.

Trina’s passion for the arts may have brought her to Tennessee, but her desire to positively impact the lives of others led to her become the Director of Opportunities with THIRDHOME.
