Scott Hetherington
Since 2020, Scott has been the partner overseeing the investment strategy for a family office involved in acquiring, developing, and managing residential real estate across Sydney, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, the UK, and Croatia. The office invests in shares (public & private), provides capital for real estate mortgages and business debt finance, and supports start-ups in real estate and hospitality.
Scott was with Jones Lang Wootton/Jones Lang LaSalle (“JLL”) for 40 years. He began as a commercial property valuer in Sydney, later specializing in the hotel & hospitality sector and relocating to London. Scott worked throughout the UK and Continental Europe and undertook the sale of large city centre and resort hotels with a focus on introducing South East Asian capital to the UK/European hotel investment markets.
In January 2000, Scott relocated to JLL Singapore to oversee the Asian Hotels & Hospitality Group, which grew into the market-leading hotel transactional and advisory business for city centre and resort hotels with teams in North & South East Asia. During his time in Asia, Scott served as a member of JLL’s Global Hotels & Hospitality board, was CEO, and ultimately Chairman of JLL’s Asian Hotels & Hospitality Group.
Scott and his wife Adele are now based in Avalon Beach, Sydney, Australia, and have been investors and members of ThirdHome since 2016. They have enjoyed some 50 trips with ThirdHome.
