The Copes in Oxfordshire, England

Overview

The Copes is a gorgeous seven-bedroom, five-bathroom, 7000 square-foot home, located in a peaceful “Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.” With a classic design and beautiful decor, this Oxfordshire countryside oasis includes a big terrace, glorious garden, and marvelous valley views from every window – providing guests with tranquillity and space to wander inside and out.

Additionally, The Copse has unique on-site amenities, including a hot tub that can accommodate up to five people and a cinema that seats up to 15 people. The property was added to THIRDHOME’s exchange portfolio in 2018. As of September 2022, six members have been lucky enough to spend a week at this tranquil paradise (with another reservation in the books for 2023).

About The Area

There are many fun things for visitors to do in this region of England, including shopping in the quaint boutiques of Marlow or Henley. Guests can attend summer evening races at Royal Windsor Racecourse, or even watch plays at the little theatre at Sonning or the excellent Newbury theatre. Plus, London Paddington is 25 minutes by train from Reading. This destination is the perfect spot for a tranquil vacation in the English countryside!

Baan Saleah in Kata Beach, Thailand

Overview

Baan Saleah is a modern designer villa, offering four luxury suites complete with hand-crafted terrazzo baths. This exclusive private oasis is situated within a secure waterfront enclave. The amazing villa sits on the headland between Kata Beach and Kata Noi Beach, and has a 100 square-meter infinity pool, enabling visitors to enjoy their holiday in total privacy.

With four en-suite bedrooms on each of the left and right wings, this villa includes plenty of room for guests and their loved ones. Plus, the modern layout includes a living space at the center with a spacious entertainment room. Baan Saleah was added to THIRDHOME’s property portfolio in 2016. Since then, 16 members have visited this tropical paradise (with one more reservation upcoming in 2023).

About the Experience

Sip a cappuccino or complimentary cocktail (fully complimentary bar available), and listen to the waves crashing on the rocks. Baan Saleah’s loosely-uniformed staff will quietly run the villa for you while you can sit back and relax. They will do all the shopping for you, and cook some of the best Thai food ever tasted. Villa La Belle Etoile in Sardinia, Italy

Overview

This stunning seafront villa is located in the southern portion of Sardinia (near Cagliari) in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The property features an impressive eight-bedroom en-suite, comfortably sleeping up to 16 people. The villa is ideal for families and large groups of friends, as each bedroom is designed to a theme and includes an en-suite bathroom. Plus, Villa Belle Etoile is exchanged on a full-service basis, and includes seven full-time staff members. This gorgeous, one-of-a-kind getaway was added to THIRDHOME’s portfolio in 2016, and since then, 12 members have made a reservation.

Outside the Villa

Villa La Belle Etoile’s pool gets the sun all day, and maintains its privacy due to the slightly elevated position over the beach. Outdoors, guests can enjoy comfortable sun beds, a hammock, a table tennis table, and a barbecue. Plus, the property resides near a prime beach location. Can Oso in Ibiza, Spain

Overview

Can Oso is a beautifully designed, brand-new villa completed in June 2020. The property was added to THIRDHOME’s portfolio the very same year. Located just outside San Agustin (a mere five minutes from San Josep), Can Oso is set in natural gardens with nearby hillside woodland to explore. Plus, guests enjoy both countryside and coastal/sunset vistas around the villa itself. As of September 2022, there have been a total of four reservations at this gorgeous island escape.

About Can Oso

The villa has a modern, chic design with a focus on the traditional buildings of Ibiza. The use of stone and wood gives the villa a tranquil and natural feel, while containing the modern features you would expect from a property of this quality. This four-bedroom, three-bathroom house was built with a strong focus on the environmental impact. It uses solar energy, the pool uses minimal chemicals, and the property is very water-efficient. In addition to the gorgeous interior and comfortable bedrooms, the villa includes a terrace of 100+ sqm with multiple seating areas, an outside kitchen, and wonderful 360-degree views of Spain‘s surrounding beauty.

Château De Vézins in Cholet, France

Overview

Château De Vézins is an 18th-century château equipped with 21st-century pleasures! You will immediately feel like you have been transported into an age gone by, an age where kings and queens entertained. With 1000m2 of living space, more than seven reception rooms, and nine luxurious bedrooms, the Château has been redecorated and furnished with period flair and taste. Château De Vézins is surrounded by over seven acres of manicured private gardens with a 40ft heated swimming pool, a seven-seater Jacuzzi, magnificent French gardens with fountains, Japanese gardens with a pond, a 14th-century moat, barbecue, and outdoor dining in the conservatory.

This countryside oasis is set in the heart of a Loire Valley village, making it the perfect base to explore the famous vineyards, châteaux, and even the Atlantic beaches. History of Château De Vézins

The origin of Château De Vézins dates all the way back to the 12th century. Between 1200 and 1400, the family of Hardy de la Porte, the original Baron de Vézins, built a red stone fort that would later become the château seen in Millionaire Holiday Home Swap. Overview

With the luxury and glamor to make a once-in-a-lifetime Parisian experience, this three-floor stand-alone residence is a rare gem in the center of it all. The inside of this chic Parisian family home is superbly decorated with interesting color combinations, as well as a great collection of paints, sculptures, and fine modern furniture and antiques.

The home features five bedrooms, elegant common spaces, a fully-equipped family-style kitchen, and a gorgeous dining room. Plus, there’s an outdoor terrace for those who prefer an al fresco meal, dinner parties, or after-dinner drinks outdoors! Even with the thousands of stays listed for Exchange at any given time, properties oftentimes have more availability than what’s currently listed. Therefore, the Club created a new process for Guests and Hosts to converse and negotiate more efficiently, uncovering hidden availability and giving you more options for finding your next dream vacation.

PRO TIP: While conversing with Hosts or potential Guests, please keep in mind that all negotiations must be finalized within 72 hours of the initial offer.

Keep reading to learn how the Request A Week process works! Please note that the following exchange is an example, and all negotiations are to be agreed upon between Guest and Host members.

STEP ONE: INITIATE REQUEST A WEEK

The new Request A Week process for standalone homes begins the same way. If you cannot find an available week that works for you, select the “Request Week” button in the Availability section of your desired residence’s property page.

STEP TWO: SELECT TIMEFRAME

You will be taken to the following Request a Stay page. From here, select a timeframe of anything from 3-14 nights, the amount of Keys you wish to exchange, and the number of guests who will be joining you. Submitting this initial request will make an opening offer to the owner.

STEP THREE: AWAIT APPROVAL OR FOLLOW-UP

Your request will be sent directly to the property’s owner, who can then accept the request as offered, counter it, or close the request without a reservation. Participants can freely chat about the request and pivot to a mutually agreeable offer by using the counter-offer function.

STEP FOUR: THE HOST MAY COUNTER

If the host counters your offer, you have the opportunity to accept or counter the counteroffer. Each counter is a binding offer if accepted by the opposing party. Note that only the most recent offer is under consideration.

When a member is happy with an offer they receive from the other member, they can accept it by submitting this form.

Congratulations! A booking has been secured, and Keys have been transferred to the owner’s account.

NOTIFICATIONS

Members will receive email and app push notifications related to Request A Weeks. This includes the original offer(s), follow-up notifications, and any chat activity. For more information on THIRDHOME App notifications, review this blog.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Upon acceptance by one party, the Keys are immediately transferred from the requester to the owner. The stay is also placed On Hold for the requester to pay their required Exchange fee and confirm the booking.

CLOSED REQUESTS

If the requester and Host are unable to reach an agreement, they can close the request. This will bring it to a conclusion without a booking, allowing no additional chat or offers.

If a request languishes for 72 hours without activity, it will be automatically closed. Additionally, all negotiations must be finalized within 72 hours of the initial offer. The request will close if it is unable to be confirmed by both the Guest and Host members.

REQUEST GUIDELINES

This is a monitored chat. To protect our members, THIRDHOME prohibits using abusive language and establishing direct contact with other members in advance of a booking. Violating these rules could result in limitation of site features, including week requests.

Please note that members who are in Limited Status do not have access to the Request A Week feature. Some properties are not eligible for Request a Week, and this process can only be initiated if the Host accepts requests.

The process for group Request A Weeks has not changed, and will be submitted the same way. Please reach out to your Member Experience Associate if you have questions about group Request A Weeks.

The STAFF was incredible: Hector, Elivira and Alex took care of our every need. They prepared the most beautiful & delicious meals. The house and views were spectacular. My favorite parts were the master bedroom opened up completely to the outside in one corner, the outside area, the two very large gorgeous dining tables to choose from AND a large tree in the living! It was really hard to leave the home, but made ourselves leave to enjoy the beauty surrounding us. Bucket list Monarch Butterfly day was even better than I could have imagined. This gorgeous and large 4,500 square-foot luxury home is situated on Roatan’s beautiful west side, in the Bay of Honduras. Five bedrooms and seven bathrooms sit on a stunning, white sand beach, where the waves of the Carribean Sea lap up onto the shore. Whether snorkeling, diving, or just relaxing by the water, there’s nothing more luxurious than a beach in paradise to call all your own!

THIRDHOME member Nelvine wrote, “We had the best time at the Vivaro Roatan luxury beachfront home! My husband and 10 year-old twins stayed there for a week and it was such a unique experience. Matt, the property manager, is so nice and friendly! He greeted us and helped us with everything throughout our stay – from planning any excursions to transportation. The home is huge for a family of 4, plenty of living space. The living area is spacious and includes some board games, which was fun to have with kids. Our trash was taken out for us throughout the week and the pool was also cleaned during our stay. The home comes with tons of floaties, snorkel gear, paddle boards, and life vests, so kids and parents were all very happy. We were able to enjoy our own beach with so much privacy. It was all very relaxing. There was air conditioner available and fans as well, so we were always comfortable. We were also only a 10-minute walk away from town: the family and I walked to West Bay to try different restaurants and look at shops. On a rainy day, we had Chef Junior come over to the home and teach us how to cook pizza. It was such a blast – what a great family idea! You can even go fishing! You get picked up from the dock right on your property. This is a great place to relax and unwind. Thank you team for making our stay so memorable!
