Eat & Drink at Home with THIRDHOME Partner: Flora Farms

Eat and drink at home like you’re visiting Flora Farms, a THIRDHOME partner.

Flora Farms is a tranquil, bountiful, hand-tended organic farm located in the foothills of the Sierra de La Laguna Mountains in San José del Cabo. Being a popular destination among the elite and famous, it is truly a dream for anyone with a passion for culinary delights and luxury lifestyles.

The 25-acre organic farm has evolved to become a luxury space offering farm-chic accommodations and private residences. It is also home to Flora’s Field Kitchen, The Farm Bar, Flora Farms Grocery and Flora Farms Celebrations.

THIRDHOME partnered with Flora Farms in 2019, giving members exclusive access to their Culinary Cottages and Hillside Haylofts. Now, they’re giving THIRDHOME members access to a few of their delicious and easy-at-home recipes to bring Flora’s Field Kitchen into your very own kitchen!

Smoked Bacon & Tomato Pizza

Recipe makes 1 (12-inch) pizza*

1 store-bought pizza crust parcooked

1/2 cup tomato sauce

1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

Kosher salt

Freshly ground pepper

4 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced into 1/8-inch-thin rounds

6 strips cooked smoked bacon

1/2-3/4 cup drained canned diced fire-roasted tomatoes

Preheat the oven to 550 degrees Farenheight. Place the parcooked pizza crust on a sheet pan. Spread the tomato sauce on the crust, then spring with the thyme, oregano, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and pepper to taste. Top with cheese, bacon, and tomatoes. Bake until the cheese is melted, the bacon is hot, and the crust is crispy- 5-6 minutes. Serve and enjoy immediately. *Recipe courtesy of Flora Farms.

The Farmarita

The farm version of a margarita that serves 1*

1 lime wheel, for garnish (optional)

Margarita salt, rim salt, or kosher salt

2 ounces of white tequila

1 splash of Cointreau or another triple sec

2 ounces of carrot juice

1/2 ounce of orange juice

1/2 ounce of lime juice

1 splash of simple or agave syrup

Ice

1 baby carrot, greens trimmed, for garnish (optional)

Spread a bit of salt on a small plate. Gently rub the lime wheel around the rim of a rocks glass. Dip the moistened rim in the salt to light coat. Set aside.

In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, cointreau, juices, and simple or agave syrup. Shake, strain into the prepared glass and add ice. Garnish with the lime wheel and carrot. Serve and enjoy! *Recipe courtesy of Flora Farms
