At ThirdHome, we respect the privacy of our users and the importance of the information they entrust to us. This Privacy Policy helps you understand what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have regarding your information.
When this policy mentions “ThirdHome,” “we,” “us,” or “our” it refers to the overarching ThirdHome, which includes but is not limited to ThirdHome Exchange, ThirdHome Rentals and ThirdHome Adventures.
1. Information We Collect
- The information you provide–When you sign up for a ThirdHome account, we ask you for personal information (such as your name, home address, email address, phone number and an account password). For certain services, such as second home exchange transactions, rentals reservations and adventure bookings, we also request credit card or other payment account information, credit card and other payment information is not kept on our servers.
- Cookies–When you visit one of the ThirdHome websites, we send one or more cookies – a small file containing a string of characters – to your computer or other device that uniquely identifies your browser. We use cookies to improve the quality of our service, including for storing user preferences.
- Log information–When you access ThirdHome services, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website. These server logs may include information such as your web request, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser.
- User communications–When you send email or other communications to ThirdHome, we may retain those communications in order to process your inquiries, respond to your requests and improve our services.
- Other sites–This Privacy Policy applies to ThirdHome services only. We do not exercise control over the sites displayed as links from within our various services. These other sites will have their own privacy policies.
2. How We Use the Information Collected
We use the information we collect to provide ThirdHome services to you.
- Access, Improve and Develop ThirdHome
- Enable you to access and use ThirdHome.
- Operate, protect, improve, and optimize ThirdHome, such as by performing analytics and conducting research.
- Provide customer service; responding to your questions or comments.
- Send you service or support messages, updates, and account notifications.
- Operate, protect, improve, and optimize ThirdHome, and personalize and customize your experience, we conduct profiling based on your interactions with ThirdHome, your search and booking history, your profile information and preferences, and other content you submit to ThirdHome.
We process this information given our legitimate interest in improving ThirdHome and our customers’ experience with the platforms.
- Personalization, Marketing and Advertising
- Send you promotional messages, marketing, advertising, and other information that may be of interest to you based on your preferences.
- Administer referral programs, rewards, surveys, sweepstakes, contests, or other promotional activities or events sponsored or managed by ThirdHome.
- Conduct profiling on your characteristics and preferences (based on the information you provide to us, your interactions with ThirdHome, and your search and booking history) to send you promotional messages, marketing, advertising and other information that we think may be of interest to you.
We will process your personal information for the purposes listed in this section given our legitimate interest in undertaking marketing activities to offer you products or services that may be of your interest. You can opt-out of receiving marketing communications from us by following the unsubscribe instructions included in our marketing communications or changing your notification settings within your ThirdHome account.
3. Information Sharing
We will not share your personal information with others except as indicated below:
- Our Affiliate Companies and agents and only for the purposes of verifying deposits and bookings within the Club and for no other reason;
- Property owners and/or owner agents when a reservation is booked;
- Service providers, such as email service providers or credit-card payment processors, performing services on our behalf; and
- Other third parties in limited circumstances, such as complying with legal requirements, preventing fraud, and protecting the safety of our users.
Note: All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. With your permission, we may send text messages about our platform, new products, and other updates. Webhooks will be used to trigger the messaging system.
4. Operating Globally
ThirdHome is a worldwide service. By using ThirdHome, you authorize us to transfer and store your information outside your home country, including in the United States, for the purposes described in this policy. The privacy protections and the rights of authorities to access your information in these countries may not be the same as in your home country. For example, information collected within the EEA may be transferred, stored, and processed outside of the EEA for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Where we transfer store, and process your personal information outside of the EEA we have ensured that appropriate safeguards are in place to ensure an adequate level of data protection.
5. Your Choices for Personal Information
Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies, but you can set your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some Users may review or update their personal information by logging into their accounts. If you have a ThirdHome account, many of the choices you have on ThirdHome are built directly into ThirdHome or your settings. For example, you can:
- Edit information in your profile at any time, and decide what notifications you receive based upon watches and saved searches.
- Close your account at any time. When you close your account, we’ll deactivate it and remove property from ThirdHome.
You also have choices available to you through the device or software you use to access ThirdHome. For example: The browser you use let’s you control cookies or other types of local data storage. ThirdHome features and services may not function properly if your cookies are disabled.

6. Other Options
You have options, described below, in relation to the information that we have about you. To exercise these options, please contact us. If you’re an EEA user, you can:
- Access the information we hold about you. We’ll usually share this with you within 30 days of you asking us for it.
- Have your information corrected or deleted. You can update your information in your settings. If you have problems updating the information or if you would like us to delete it, contact us.
- Object to us processing your information. You can ask us to stop using your information, including when we use your information to send you marketing emails or push notifications. If you opt out of receiving marketing messages from us, we may still send you newsletters and updates about your account.
- Complain to a regulator. If you’re based in the EEA and think that we haven’t complied with data protection laws, you have a right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission or with your local supervisory authority.
7. Security
We take appropriate physical, electronic, and other security measures to help safeguard personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.
8. Mobile Messaging Program
ThirdHome operates a mobile messaging program which is subject to the mobile messaging terms and conditions found in this subsection as well as in our terms and conditions which can be found at https://www.thirdhome.com/terms-and-conditions/. By enrolling, signing up, or otherwise agreeing to participate in the mobile messaging program, all Members accept and agree to our mobile messaging terms and conditions as well as this Privacy Policy. With your permission, we may send text messages about our platform, new products, and other updates. Webhooks will be used to trigger the messaging system.
Program Description
ThirdHome may send promotional and transactional mobile messages in various formats through its mobile messaging program. This service is used to send you messages that advertise and promote our products and services, as well as provide customer service. Messages relating to ThirdHome products and services may include information relating to our promotions, specials, other marketing offers as well as abandoned checkout reminders, and 1:1 messages used to service your account. Transactional messages relate to an existing or ongoing transaction and may include order notifications and updates, appointment reminders, and other transaction-related information.
Mobile messages may be sent using an automated technology, including an autodialer, automated system, or automatic telephone dialing system. Message frequency will vary but should not exceed ten (10) individual messages per month, with the exception of 1:1 customer service messages when a Member elects to communicate by text. You agree that we, our affiliates, and any third-party service providers may send you messages regarding the foregoing topics or any topic and that such messages and/or calls may be made or placed using different telephone numbers or short codes, except in connection with marketing purposes. We do not charge for mobile messages sent through the mobile messaging program but Members are responsible for any message and data rates imposed by their respective mobile provider, as standard data and message rates may apply for short message service and multimedia message alerts.
User Opt-In
By providing your mobile phone number to ThirdHome and expressing consent, you are voluntarily opting in to the Program and you agree to receive recurring mobile messages from us at the mobile phone number associated with your opt-in, even if such number is registered on any state or federal “Do Not Call” list. You agree that any mobile phone number you provide to us is a valid mobile phone number of which you are the owner or authorized user. If you change your mobile phone number or are no longer the owner or authorized user of the mobile phone number, you agree to promptly notify. Your participation in the Program does not require that you make any purchase from us and your participation in the Program is completely voluntary.
User Opt-Out and Support
You may opt-out of the mobile messaging program at any time. If you wish to opt-out and stop receiving mobile messages from us, or you no longer agree to these mobile messaging terms of service, reply STOP, STOPALL, QUIT, CANCEL, END and/or UNSUBSCRIBE to the mobile number from which the message is sent. Members will receive a one-time opt-out confirmation message. Members understand and agree that the foregoing is the only reasonable method of opting out. For Members that wish to rejoin, simply text “START”, “YES” or “UNSTOP,” to the number from which you last received a text and ThirdHome will recommence sending messages. For support, reply HELP to any mobile message from ThirdHome.
Our mobile messaging platform may not recognize requests that modify the foregoing commands, and you agree that we and our service providers will not be liable for failing to honor requests that do not comply with the requirements in the ThirdHome mobile messaging program. ThirdHome may also change the telephone number or short code we use to operate the mobile messaging program and we will notify you of any such change. Members acknowledge that all requests sent to a telephone number or short code that have been changed may not be received by ThirdHome and ThirdHome will not be responsible for failing to honor a request sent to a telephone number or short code that has been changed. Disclaimer of Warranty and Liability
The mobile messaging program is offered on an “as-is” basis and may not be available in all areas, at all times, or on all mobile providers. You agree that neither we nor our service providers will be liable for any failed, delayed, or misdirected delivery of any mobile message or information sent through the Program.
Modifications
ThirdHome may modify or cancel the mobile messaging program or any of its features at any time, with or without notice. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may also modify these mobile messaging terms of service at any time. Any such modification will take effect when it is posted to our website. You agree to review these mobile messaging terms periodically to ensure that you are aware of any modifications. Your continued participation in the mobile messaging program will serve as a confirmation of your acceptance of those modifications.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Please note that this Privacy Policy may change from time to time. We will post any Privacy Policy changes on this page and each version of this Privacy Policy will be identified at the top of the page by its effective date.
