Fly into Christchurch International Airport. We suggest booking a hotel for a day or two before making the drive to Christchurch.
Christchurch to Dunedin: Your beachfront retreat is a 4.5-hour drive south to beautiful Karitane, a beach town just north of Dunedin.
Dunedin to Wanaka: A 3.5-hour drive—one of one of New Zealand’s most scenic inland routes, taking you from coastal plains to dramatic alpine landscapes.
Wanaka back to Christchurch: A 5-hour drive—one of New Zealand’s most beautiful long-distance routes that takes you from alpine lakes and mountain passes into the Canterbury Plains. We suggest booking a hotel for a night before your flight home.
