On February 15th, 2018, the THIRDHOME team added a gorgeous property in Sydney, Australia. That property happened to be the 10,000th property added to our luxury home exchange club.

“I always knew we would reach 10,000, but to actually see it, that’s something else.”-THIRDHOME Founder & CEO, Wade Shealy

THIRDHOME‘s 10,000th property, the Pacific House,  is a modern beach home in Palm Beach, just north of Sydney.

You may think the Rocky Mountains region is just for skiing, but it is the perfect home exchange option for the summer! Experience the Rockies while the weather is warm and participate in hiking, mountain biking, fly-fishing, white water rafting and more! Recently, THIRDHOME Founder and CEO Wade Shealy and his travel group spent time exploring the Rockies and stayed in a member’s luxury residence at The Residences at The Chateaux in Deer Valley, Utah.

What was his experience like? Two-time Olympian Kaylin Richardson will walk you through what great activities await when you home swap to the Rocky Mountains during the summer:

Read in Wade’s own words why a summer trip to the Rocky Mountains is a perfect home exchange experience:

“Although I have visited Park City and Deer Valley many times to ski, I had never spent much time out there in the summer. My son, his mom and I decided to give a summer trip to the area a try. Wow, we all agreed, it was the best vacation ever! Once you go out in the summer it will be your favorite place, I promise!  Our first morning fly-fishing the Mid Provo river, we landed 30 Brown trout. My son Adam brought in the largest at 19 inches and 5 lbs. Then a short plane ride landed us outside Vernal Utah to float the famous Green River. The class 3 rapids and the scenery made it the most memorable rafting we have ever experienced. Once we pulled out of the river we visited Dinosaur National Monument and saw a wall of hundreds of bones that were collected during a flood that occurred around 150 million years ago. On a scale of 1-10, this vacation was an 11. Grab a week now and experience the Rockies, you will be glad you did.”

At THIRDHOME, we believe that variety is the spice of life and bringing new vacation home exchange destinations available to our members is always a top priority. Recently, we have added a new exclusive real estate brokerage partner, Panorama Real Estate (An International Associate of Savills), that will be welcoming more members from Spain into the club. In addition, a new Affiliate property (Sotogrande Resort) will be added as an exchange option with availability coming soon. What types of activities can you do in Spain? For starters, read Wade Shealy’s (Founder and CEO of THIRDHOME) first-hand account of the motorcycle journey he went on in the Málaga region of Spain from Marbella to Ronda.

“I rented, for $200 USD, a new Indian Motorcycle in Marbella for the day.  I road up to Ronda, a quaint historic mountain village. The trip up was about an hour but an amazing ride twisting back and forth as I climbed into the mountains overlooking the Mediterranean sea and the Rock of Gibraltar in the distance. The town was historic and the most notable site is the “new” bridge. They call it new even though it was built in the 1700’s. The architect of the bridge was admiring his work when done and accidentally fell to his death off the bridge.

From Ronda you feel like you are on the top of Spain with Portugal just to the northwest and Africa to your south. From Ronda, I stayed on winding back roads over to Gaucin and turned down to Casares. All of the towns along this route were picturesque Southern Spain villages, authentic in every way. The entire trip, I could not take my eyes off  the Rock of Gibraltar in the background with the Tangier coast of Africa poking its head just above the sea line.”

That is only the start to what you can do when visiting Spain. While the addition of more home exchange options arriving shortly with our new partnerships is exciting, there are beautiful homes in this area of Spain already available for your next home swapping experience! Interested in booking a trip now? Visit Marbella, you’ll already have one of your day’s itineraries set by repeating this fun adventure!
