The Grand Lodge | Fernglen Forest Retreat

Winding down the driveway you’re transported into an idyllic forest paradise, an oasis of private lush green rain forest, set on 7 acres of towering mountain ash trees and giant tree ferns. Sit and meditate by the private brook, discover the mini waterfalls, feed the friendly rosellas, king parrots, kookaburras and our impromptu resident cockatoo. Look out for the wombats and wallabies and even deer. If you’re wanting to immerse yourself in the healing virtue of nature, if you’re needing peace and quiet, spiritual, emotional, or physical rejuvenation, this retreat is for you.

While you’re with us treat yourself to Mount Dandenongs numerous tourist, natural and cultural attractions, gardens, bush walks, restaurants, music, cafés, specialist art and curio shops, not to mention the many wineries of the nearby Yarra Valley.

ON SITE SAUNA

We provide an onsite sauna with outdoor shower and bath, all set within a lovely private bush setting of forest views. To book please contact us directly.

PETS

Your pets are welcome but must always be on leash when outside to protect wildlife. Please bring your own pets food requirements, bowls and bedding and please ensure no pets on the furniture. All pet waste is to be cleaned up by guests. Please refer to the Pet policy which will be sent to you after your booking.

FOOD/CATERING

If you are after nibbles or full catering during your stay, we have the privilege of partnering up with Queenie and Mavis caterers. They offer a range of both delicious savoury and sweet grazing boxes, as well as breakfast boxes, all ranging in size, as well as specific dietary requirements and delivered straight to your door before arrival. Queenie and Mavis also offer grazing tables for larger groups or events and functions. To order, all links and phone numbers can be found on our website. Please give the address and the name of the cottage you are staying at and allow a minimum of 2 days’ notice. ON SITE MASSAGE

THE LODGE

The Jacuzzi Lodge is a limestone fully self-contained dwelling, with tranquil forest views from every window. With its own driveway and undercover parking, it ensures your privacy. This is an ideal romantic couple or family getaway with a king-sized bedroom and an optional second bedroom housing bunk beds. The Jacuzzi Lodge comes with the exclusive use of a luxury 8-seater outdoor spa. Free Wifi, a full kitchen & a cosy fireplace.

The Windmill Lodge is a limestone fully self-contained cottage, with tranquil forest views from every window. This is an ideal romantic couple or family getaway with a king-sized bedroom, a second bedroom with a queen bed and a third bedroom housing two single or double beds. The Windmill Lodge comes with the exclusive use of an outside courtyard. Free Wifi, a full kitchen & a cosy fireplace.

JACUZZI & WINDMILL LODGE COMBINED.
These two lodges can be opened into one large 5-bedroom, 2 Kitchen, 2 bathroom, 2 lounge room house, with exclusive access to the the outdoor jacuzzi, two paved courtyards and two outdoor dining areas. There is parking for up to 5 cars.

Please be aware, the grand lodge is part of the Fernglen Forest Retreat and there are 3 other cottages on the property. These cottages are all seperate from the grand lodge and have seperate parking and private spaces, however the 7 arces of rainforest are a shared nature space and all residents have access to the forest
