Mountain Ski House | With Studio
Located in Silverfork, Utah, just one mile down hill from Solitude ski area and three miles from Brighton ski area in Big Cottonwood Canyon. This exquisite house, lovingly crafted in the mid 90s, is a testament to rustic cottage elegance. Adorned with hand-peeled log columns, antique oriental rugs, Ralph Lauren fabrics, stone floors, and slate bathrooms, it has an inviting sense of home.
Upon entering, guests find themselves in a well-appointed mud room, perfect for shedding ski gear after an adventure on the nearby slopes. The main floor, has a warm and cozy living room which leads to the dining area and the adjacent chef's kitchen. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with the owner being a former private chef. The family room with it's antique pot belly stove completes this inviting space, fostering togetherness and relaxation.
Upstairs there are four bedrooms, all well separated for privacy. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, an en-suite bathroom with a Japanese soaking tub, and a walk-in closet. It enjoys a lovely view of Solitude ski area. The view from the Japanese soaking tub has the same views. The other three bedrooms are thoughtfully designed for a variety of guests. The second nearby bedroom features a full bed and a twin bed. A third bedroom offers two double beds and a set of bunk beds specially designed for younger children of 7 and under. The fourth bedroom is a self-contained studio apartment, complete with its own kitchen—a hidden gem for those seeking extra privacy or the ambiance of a second master bedroom. This room has a full sized bed with an additional put out full from under the main bed. It has a vaulted ceiling and offers a lot of space.
There is an additional hall bathroom and a half bath on the 2nd floor. The main level also has a half bathroom. The house is very well equipped with lot of books and activities for kids. The garage has several sets of snow shoes for guests to borrow.
The house sits at an altitude of 7500ft. It is located on the main canyon road, a short distance downhill from the Silver Fork Lodge and a mile from Solitude ski resort. The adventurous can try skiing home if conditions permit! Groceries can be found in the valley which is a 15-minute drive, but can take longer if the roads are snowy or after skiing when the canyon road gets busy and you will be happy you are staying in the canyon and NOT in the valley!
