Peaceful and idyllic
We had a great stay at Casa de Campo. The traditional style villa is charming and idyllic. It comfortably accommodated our party of 7 people across our 3 generations. The charming housekeeper Judi attended daily, gave advice and helped with arrangements such as rental of a golf cart to get around the Casa de Campo resort. Shops and the beach are a little outside walking distance but no problem in the cart - and just 10 minutes to the beach. One thing in particular we enjoyed was the private pool. The pool is big and as a swimmer was great for laps. Our children enjoyed many hours splashing around! Weslie the owner was extremely helpful and responsive, and also gave us a courtesy call when we arrived to check we were OK. Can highly recommend - to enjoy the peace, charm and sunshine!”
Live in another world
We felt completely at home at Casa de Campo from the first moment when the delighful housekeeper Judi greeted us with a big smile. And she continued to look after us cheerfully and efficiently the whole stay. The house is spacious and well appointed yet feels cosy. I especially loved the outdoor room where I sat each day to the write the first few chapters of my next book. The huge garden is beautiful and very private. The resort has everything you need - loads of restaurants, supermarket, bank and lots of activities. Mostly we were enjoying the peace and quiet to get work done but we did have a lovely day at Isla Catalina (catamaran from the resort) and I did a horse ride. Service is friendly and efficient throughout the resort and it is super safe. Outside of the resort is friendly too. We used the much bigger supermarket down the road, went to some local bars and spent a couple of days on the SE part of the island (Punta Cana) enjoying the cenotes and deserted beaches. My daughter reckons it was one of our best 3 holidays ever - and we have had some great 3rd home and other holidays”
A wonderful week; most relaxing!
The Porters were delightful to work with, and had a Guide to the Villa prepared for our arrival. The Housekeeper, Judi, was great, and she prepared a wonderful "Criollo" meal with stewed chicken and all of the typical Dominican side dishes. We spent most of the days lounging by the large pool; enjoying the absolute peace and quiet. It was a lovely week, which went by too quickly!”
