Always the best
This was our 3rd time staying at Top of the Hill and once again it was spectacular. Robert is the perfect host and his home reflects his class and style. We stayed a week and I think only left the property to go to the grocery store!! Other than that--it was hard to leave this private, centrally located, mid-century style structure with Hansel-and-Gretel lush forested backyard. It is the glass back of the home that makes this home so special. The outside deck, grill, and hammock areas were our central gathering spot. But the best was our host. Robert's thoughtful attention to detail was the other special treat. The beds are comfy. The linens are first class. The duvets and comforters wrap you in restful luxury. The kitchen is modern and tasteful and has every amenity. He has thought of every need. We hated to leave--but will be back!!”
Nothing like this Slice of Heaven!
Spent 2 weeks at Top of the Hill. The owner is just great to work with and has done a wonderful job appointing the house. The grounds are well manicured and just perfect for our family. The house is clean, very well located and a great family compound. It is a slice of heaven!”
This house is THE BEST
We just returned from a relaxing week at Top of the Hill in Southern Pines. Took my 92 year old dad, after having lost our mom earlier after their marriage of 61 years. The reason I mention it is my dad has never vacationed without my mom. The house is the epitome of class and style. Clearly obvious that the owner is a well-traveled gent with a fabulous sense of first class understatement. The home is very well appointed with outstanding grounds. Perfect for older people also as it is one level. The house is well situated on the lot and is Very Very Very private. The attention to detail is obvious: First class linens and towels, glassware is well selected, even down to the coffee table books of one of my favorite designers, Billy Baldwin. The kitchen is well stocked, and overall the home truly feels like a RItz-Carlton appointed residence. The best part is the house fits well into the laid back golf atmosphere of Southern Pines and Pinehurst. The house is literally 6 minutes from the quaint, Mayberry-esque main street of downtown, (complete with picturesque train station, coffee shop, great restaurants, a great wine and cheese bar, AND one movie house!) and is also about 11 minutes from the fabulous town of Pinehurst. Robert, the owner, is outstanding, and was available when needed (especially the one night after a summer storm and the lights went out..we took the kerosene lamp and the abundant candles and sat outside near the big horse--which will make sense once you are sitting on the deck!). This was a 5 star experience for a 5 star home and a 5 star owner. We will be back!”
