Description

Luxury Log Cabin on Private Lake

The beautiful Maine Cabin is a quiet, 5 acre estate sitting on private access to the best part of Horseshoe Pond. Features include a large sunning dock, 3 Canoes & Kayaks, Claw Foot Bathtubs, 30 ft Ceilings, Reading nooks, 2 Kitchens, & Basketball Court.

Our lake, Horseshoe Pond, is known as one of the cleanest fresh water ponds in the United States. The wildlife here is protected by the state and the water is no exception. No gas boats are allowed on the lake (it’s so clean you could drink from it.)

Bedrooms — 6 Bedrooms; 12 Beds
The Main house consists of 3 private bedrooms and 4 Open Bedrooms:

The Master Bedroom - The largest room, it has a King size bed with private bathroom and large sitting room that has an additional 2-4 person day bed on it. This room is perfect for a luxury camping atmosphere as you can open the large windows and pull down the screens to sleep with nature. It also has a personal gas fireplace in it to keep the entire space extra warm for the cooler seasons. Bathroom has a custom made "rain" shower with floor to ceiling mirrors, toilet, light-white log wooden walls, 3 windows that can open to nature that you can enjoy from the 2 person claw foot tub, next to the claw foot mini tub: perfect for washing your feet before bed or it can be a perfect place to bathe a baby. The unique double facing sinks are perfect for him and her use. This bathroom is a truly luxurious place to wash up after a long day outdoors.

The Wolf Bedroom - Sleeps 2
Located directly above the kitchen, it is a private bedroom with 2 twin beds. It has a private bathroom with the hand painted "Horseshoe Pond in Four Seasons" Mural. It features large windows to enjoy from a single person claw foot bathtub, toilet, single person shower, and a unique sink with large mirror, hanging chandelier, and hidden french doors that open to The Main house laundry units.

The Bear Bedroom - Sleeps 3-4
Located to the right of the stairs features a double bed, a desk for working as well as a 1-2 person sleeping nook.

The Catwalk - Sleeps 1-2
The most feline part of the house, it features a 2 person day bed that transforms into a sleeping nook. This room is commonly used for extra sleeping space. It has direct sight to the lake, the main room, as well as the front garden. It also features a chess table. When the Projector screen is pulled down this room is an excellent place for people to sit and watch a movie from up above, especially the kids!

The Flag Room - Sleeps 4
Named because if it's patriotic theme, the red, white, and blue room is our favorite place to sleep during fourth of July parties. It features a large Queen size bed on one end and 2 twin beds on the other end. Attached is a private bathroom with a very special tin claw foot bathtub, single person shower, large mirror, sink, toilet, and window to look at nature from the tub.

The Living Room - Sleeps 2
The largest room by height, this room features the largest fireplace with option to turn into Movie Theatre. There are two identical "reading nooks" that have red curtains and private floor heaters. These we call "sleeping nooks" because often people prefer to sleep in there for a real cabin experience. Once you hop in there and close the red flannel curtains, the heat from the individual floor heaters fills up the nook. That plus the fur lining and bunch of pillows creates a dream-like sleeping situation. Turn on the reading lamps for late night reading or crack the window and listen for the loons. The nooks sleep 1 adult or 2 kids, each (Note* Projector TV only to be used when fire it completely out).

The Carriage House - consists of One Private Bedroom and One Open Bedroom; sleeps 6

Located above the 3-door garage, The Carriage House acts as a private apartment. The private bedroom features a King size Bed, Large Windows, a Writing Desk, and lots of Privacy. Attached is one full bath which includes a large shower, sink, toilet floor to ceiling mirror, and claw foot bathtub. The Carriage house has a Dining Room, Full Kitchen with Refrigerator/Freezer, Gas Stove, Double Sink, Microwave, Living Room with two pull out Double beds, Large Flat screen TV, and Private Balcony. Located by the garage is a wash room featuring a washer and dryer unit as well as an additional half bath.

Main House Additional Rooms:
The Pool Room
Features include a fireplace and our family made billiard table. Enjoy a game while listening to music from the living room or sit in there and watch the fire.

Dining Room
Attached to the kitchen, this room features a small bar, an additional grilling stove (for warmer weather), a large custom made dining room table which seats about 20 people, 2 large hanging antler chandeliers. Nothing but large windows make this room one of the most used rooms in the house. A single person swiveling couch chair sits right at the end of the room, perfect for enjoying your morning cup of coffee while viewing the lake.

Outdoor Tea Room
At the top of the grand outdoor staircase, there is outdoor seating, candles, pillows and large umbrella which makes this room the most fun of all. Grab your drinks and watch the sun rise or set with friends or if it’s raining out pop up the umbrella and enjoy the day outdoors in spite of the weather (this is one of our favorite things to do in the rain).

Screened in Sitting Room
Used for nighttime pow wows or as a smoking room, this place is perfect for sitting outside and avoiding mosquitos in the summer. Lamp switch makes it bright at night too!

Outdoor Ping Pong Room
In the summer this is the place to be. Located by the Master Bedroom, this is a screened in room with Ping Pong table for mosquito-free summer fun.

More Outdoor Features:
Half Basketball Court
Includes about 4 basketballs in the garage.

Herb Garden
Beautiful Herb Garden and Fountain with sitting area. Can be seen from kitchen and it’s perfect when cooking or making specialty cocktails. Try a mojito with some fresh mint!

Outdoor Fire Pit
Seating for everyone! Grilling the days catch or Roasting Marsh Mellows while watching the stars, this is the place to utilize while staying here.

Dock
The Full Dock is on the lake from May to October. The dock area has an ice-fishing shed that includes a mini wood stove inside for heat during winter ice fishing! In the summer this shed sits on shore and holds boat supplies, life jackets, and fishing gear. There is a Canoe, a Kayak, and a tin electric fishing boat that easily converts into a row boat.

Our Lake:
Horseshoe Pond is approximately a 4 mile perimeter and 136 acres. The depth is quite substantial. It's mean depth is 12 ft and in the middle it reaches over 100 ft (our neighbors say it goes to about 150). The fish are both cold and warm water; plenty of large mouth bass. The water is of extremely high quality and there is a wildlife preservation over the entire side across from our property, ; please keep this in mind when you discard your trash or put foreign elements into the water. Gas boats are not allowed on the water as there are loons (endangered specie) nesting on our pond. We have plenty of manual boats and an electric powered tin boat for 6, to fish in. When we decide to we want a fast boat, we rent one (plus tubes and skis) over at “Loons Nest” on Kezar Lake, an easy 10 minute drive.

Reviews

Beautiful Getaway

This is a spectacular cabin, right next to a beautiful and secluded Lake. The views are lovely, and there is lots of hiking in the area. Conveniently close to North Conway New Hampshire, the cabin offers much for the Outdoorsman. While the cabin does sleep many people, it is more suitable for a family than for several couples, as there are three bedrooms, and all other sleeping is in sleeping nooks and sitting room parts of the bedrooms. If you live in or near a city, you will delight in the view of the stars and the sounds of the loons on the lake.”
