The locals have a saying in Lake Tahoe, that they "came for the Winter, but ended up staying for the Summer".

No matter what season you come to the Northstar Ski Resort, Lake Tahoe, I am sure the results will be the same - you too will have a great time and will want to come back!

Northstar California is known for its great ski mountain, challenging golf course, ice skating rink, restaurants, and friendly atmosphere, with emphasis on family fun.

"Northstar emerged five years ago as Lake Tahoe's Cinderella. Today, ski concierges help guests off with their equipment at the end of the day, while champangne toasts are passed out freely on the mountain, as are s'mores in the Village below"

One of the best things about staying here, is that once you arrive, you may never have to drive your car again... just call the Northstar Dial-a-Ride and they will pick you up at your front door and take you to the gondolas at the Village, the Ice Skating Rink or even to the Recreation Center where you will have access to the Main Pool, Lap Pool, Splash and Kids Pool, video games, ping pong, pool tables, hot tubs, fitness room, tennis courts, lockers and more.

The Lodge is in an amazing location at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. It sits directly on 45,000 acres of hiking, biking, wild life viewing of Martis Valley and the Tompkins Memorial Trail System. To the right is the Northstar Golf Course and Club House, where after your round of golf you can enjoy The Grill and a few drinks.

This casual and comfortable older mountain home has almost 5,000 square feet with 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, this home has plenty of room for everyone to enjoy their own space.

Bedroom #1: King with en suite bathroom, 40" flat screen TV
Bedroom #2: Set of bunk beds with a Queen and three XL Twins and en suite bathroom, 72" flat screen TV

Bedroom #3: Master bedroom King with jacuzzi bathtub and sunken shower, 40" flat screen TV

Bedroom #4: Queen and a Twin
Bedroom #5 Queen, 40" flat screen TV

After a long day of skiing, hiking, or swimming in the crystal blue waters of Lake Tahoe, nothing feels better than soaking in your own private spa, while you take in the incredible views of the valley.

If you feel like doing a little shopping or fine dining, you are only a few miles away from Truckee, CA. This town has won numerous awards as one of the best mountain / ski towns in the USA. Feeling a little lucky? Head to one of my favorite casinos at the Hyatt Lake Tahoe or travel a little further to South Lake Tahoe for some real night life and fun.

What does a typical day look like? I like to start the day off with a cup of coffee while soaking in the jacuzzi while the kids are still asleep. Then its breakfast cooked in the gourtmet kitchen. In the Winter, we call for the shuttle and head off to the ski slopes. In the Summer, we hike, mountain bike, or head for Lake Tahoe, which is only 7 miles away. By the end of the day, the big kids are behind the reclaimed wood barn doors watching TV or playing shuffle board, the adults are sitting around the fireplace, and the younger kids are in the bunk room watching TV or playing ping pong. And once again, you can find me outside in the jacuzzi, but this time with a glass of red wine...

Great location, beautiful area

This is a very comfortable, well stocked, and private home. We loved being close to Northstar, so close in fact when we drove there on the weekend and couldn't find a parking spot we just went back home and called the free shuttle which picked us up at the end of the driveway. We skied Northstar and Sugar Bowl, both excellent. Steve the owner had great communication. I would love to come back in the summer. This has to be one of the most scenic parts of the country. ”

Very spacious and comfortable!

We stayed for a week in the winter and absolutely enjoyed our time in the house and in the Northstar Resort in general. Steve was very communicative and made our check in and out flawless. We love skiing/riding at Northstar and the shuttle bus makes a ski vacation super easy and convenient with our teenage kids, allowing them to come and go as they please. The house had lots of space for everyone (we didn't even use all the rooms and were 2 adults and 4 kids), a very well-stocked kitchen, hot tub ready in the back, and even a shuffle board table in the den. All in all we had a great time and would definitely go back again. Thanks Steve and family!”

Martis Valley View Review

The owner was wonderful and very accommodating. The house itself was a little "funkier" and more outdated than we are used to staying in, but it was a very enjoyable visit. We greatly appreciate our experience and time there! Kate ”
