Amazing Stay in WV!!
Our first trip to beautiful WV did not disappoint! My wife and I had a fantastic stay at Cliff House and Carl was a superb host! We were able to do hikes on and off property, as well as get some great rafting in. If you're into outdoor adventures, this location truly has it all. As for the home, I can't say enough about how great it is. It truly takes full advantage of its incredible surroundings. It essentially feels like you're in a glass house in the middle of the woods. The natural light, the great outdoor space, the floor to ceiling windows...it has it all. The square footage is so efficiently utilized here and it's a great setup for a group with large and private bedrooms and bathrooms throughout. Fayetteville is a great mountain town too. There is much to do and great dining options. I hope to be back!”
One of the best vacations ever!
Nestled in the midst of soaring trees, the Cliff House was home to my family for an unbelievable week of adventure and quality family time. The house is a true gem....simply but yet elegant...comfortable and yet chic. Huge windows throughout the house pull the beautiful outdoors inside, and offer the home abundant natural light. You can see the remarkable views of the New River Gorge Bridge (the third longest single span arch bridge in the world and one of the tallest vehicular bridges in the world) from both the living area and the master bedroom! The outdoor fireplace and outdoor living area was the perfect spot for morning coffee and dinner at night. The finish out of the home itself is beautiful, the architecture is something to see, and the interior design could not be better...truly inviting. The kitchen has everything you need and more...a real treat for a second home. All of the bedrooms and baths have comfy, quality linens, and there is a fabulous office with windows on three sides that makes you feel like you are in a treehouse. The home is completely private, and there are trails right out of the front door to adventure out and hike or bike. And probably the best part about this stay was the owner, Carl, who took the time to send an extraordinary and thorough list of his personal recommendations on the best way to navigate all to do in the New River Gorge Area. We took his advice and hired Bobby Bower, whose team took us on a wonderful fishing trip down the New River. We used The Adventures of the Gorge to embark on a white water rafting excursion that proved to be a blast and got the entire group soaked from the beginning! We also used the same company to rent a private pontoon boat where we spent the day lakeside, rock climbing and stand-up paddle boarding...a truly memorable day! We had sensational pizza at Pies and Pints, and the Secret Sandwich Society is not to be missed. The town of Fayetteville, West Virginia is called the Coolest Small Town, and I can certainly see why. The locals are friendly and full of personality, and there is certainly an element of charm and charisma in this beautiful small town.”
Cliff House at Wild Rock does not disappoint
After a week in the mountains of West Virginia, we never wanted to leave! Great family home, where everyone has private space. Large living room and dining so 8 can sit comfortable to eat and play cards. We took advantage of every mile of the 10 miles of hiking trails right outside our door, as well a a trip down the New River on a raft and a quick zip on the Treetops Canopy Tour. Thank you!!!”
We stayed at Cliff House for five days after our wedding. The house provided us with tranquility, comfort, and some much needed quiet time. The view from the master bedroom is breathtaking and we enjoyed waking up to the sunrise every morning. We felt lucky to stay in such a beautiful home; even in the winter we were able to enjoy a fire, a nice hike, the bridge and surrounding waterfalls, and the local food. Carl was incredibly helpful and kind; it is clear the home is loved and well taken care of. We hope to return to Cliff House one day with our extended family in the summer to take advantage of all of the wonderful warm weather fun. Anyone who stays here will be swept up in the architectural beauty of the home and will fall in love with Fayetteville.”
Cliff House Paradise
WOW! Mini Hillbilly reunion with WV and Kentucky family in an absolutely stunning home. It was everything we had hoped for and more. Stunning architecture, furnishings, views and surroundings and the support staff and ownership were exceptional. We could easily live there!! :) Bring your hiking shoes for the terrific trail systems right out the door, plan on eating some great food within minutes or bring in a local chef for a catered dinner (which we did and was off the charts!) and relax. And no TV in the living area was a GREAT idea. Why ruin a Million Dollar view? Loved it, loved it, loved it.”
Extreme Sports Heaven in the Lap of Luxury
The New River Gorge is a fabulous destination for Extreme Sports: White Water Rafting, Zip Lining, Tree Top Obstacle Courses, etc. My 13 year old son and his friends LOVED IT! And how better to enjoy these activities than from the luxury home base, Cliff House. The property is absolute perfection. The Architecture design of the home is perfect for the serene setting. It was well maintained, furnished, and outfitted with everything you need for a weeks stay. We all slept like babies with the luxury bed linens. The view of the hills and bridge from the house is breath taking. You can walk out your door and enjoy miles of wonderful hiking trails. Sarah and Dave are wonderful people and always willing to help with anything you need. I definitely want to return and recommend it as a perfect vacation for active people. ”
