Flawless Gem in Cornwall
This cleverly designed house is a true gem set on the water front in the heart of the picturesque village of Fowey. The views of the river are sublime and are available from most rooms extending from Bodinnick right across the river to Polruan.
From its cobbled granite driveway a simple doorway provides access into this house of surprises. The design throughout is cool chic with a mix of contemporary materials incorporating glass used to maximum effect.
The accommodation is set out over four floors with underfloor heating, and each level having a specific purpose: with the design focusing on the river. The utility spaces are cleverly hidden on the ground floor.
The first floor is focused on entertaining with a stylish Boffi kitchen and a sizeable dining room combined with a decked terrace complete with pizza oven - ideal for summer drinks.
The second floor has two superb bedrooms, one with a slipper bath positioned to spend hours soaking up the view. The master suite is a real joy, taking in the whole of the top floor with a high vaulted ceiling and exposed roof beams. The room is divided by the glazing of the staircase and with a superb bathroom set to the rear complete with roll top bath, walk in shower and dressing area. The bedroom space is very airy and features a private balcony with the most superb panoramic views.
The Royal Fowey Yacht Club and the many restaurants and shops in the town are within a short walk, as is the passenger ferry to Polruan, on the opposite side of the river.

Couldn't be nicer
This wonderful and efficient modern home is set on the edge of the Fowey estuary which teems with water craft of all kinds from small sailboats, gigs, and fishing boats, to the occasional freighter. All the very comfortable bedrooms have a view of the water. If you like to cook , the kitchen has everything you will need, and a wonderful fish market is 150 feet from the front door. Invaluably, there is a private parking space right next to the house. The town itself is charming and offers plenty of places to eat, to shop, and wonderful walks on the headlands. Fowey is a tourist destination, and the streets can be crowded with walkers at times, but the house confers perfect privacy and isolation from the bustle on the streets.”
We had an amazing time. The house really is flawless and the location quintessentially Cornwall, yet much more - great walks quaint villages, super beaches, good options for food. I would highly recommend this place to visitors who want a different kind of stay. With much appreciation. ”
We absolutely loved the house. Everything about it was perfect. Situated right on the water and yet so central meant that we could spend the day looking at the boat coming and going or quickly go shopping for dinner or lunch or better still have a nice meal in one of the lovely restaurants in Fowey. The house itself which has been so obviously designed with an eye for details had everything one could wish for: a great view, a terrace where we managed to have breakfast and lunch a number of times, a well equipped kitchen and enough space for everyone to feel really comfortable, let’s not forget a parking space in a street where it is normally impossible to park. What a bonus! When we were there, we also rented a small boat to go up and down the river at high tide. We also enjoyed going to the Eden project. We had so much fun. ”
Stunning house in superb location.
We had an amazing week at Flawless Gem and we honestly can't remember enjoying a week more. The house itself is simply stunning in terms of design and quality of furnishing and lighting and the location in the beautiful Cornish town of Fowey is second to none. We felt very privileged to be able to stay in such a special home. The glass frontage made you feel like you were living right on the water with breathtaking views from every corner and we loved living in the centre of town being able to walk to excellent restaurants and local shops (including a great deli). The level of equipment is also excellent. We particularly enjoyed the sound system as musicians - it is something we normally miss when we are on holiday! Linda and Patrick were so helpful and organised everything perfectly so that we had a wonderful stay.”
