Description

Laikipia Wilderness Camp

Laikipia Wilderness Camp offers you an authentic safari experience like no other! This serene bush camp offers you a private one or two bedroom tent, creating a personalized adventure that’s catered specifically for you. Enjoy gorgeous views of Mount Kenya from camp, and delight in the way this gorgeous property blends seamlessly into the this stunning area of true wilderness.

Your lovely, personal tent is en suite, offering you an open-air bathroom and allowing you to shower under the stars. Hot and cold running water is available, bringing you that extra bit of comfort in the bush! The tent is built on a platform and comes with a private veranda, where you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the bush at all hours of the day. All of the furniture is created from natural materials, making you feel truly connected to the earth and giving a rustic feel to your vacation. Bed configurations vary by tent, but each tent can sleep two to three people comfortably, and a configuration of a double and two singles is available for families traveling with younger children.

The main gathering place during your stay will be the large mess tent, serving as the central reception area and offering a dining room, sitting room and a bar/library area. Outside, you’ll find an open veranda on a spacious, wooden deck, where you’ll gather at night with the rest of the campers to talk about the adventure of the day! Oftentimes, you’ll take your dinner at a scenic viewing point, where you can look out over the rugged wilderness of the bush as you dine on a delicious meal prepared by our unbeatable kitchen staff. This area is complete with a campfire, perfect for when the nights get a little cooler! We can also arrange for private family dinners or romantic meals for couples looking to get away from it all.

Laikipia Wilderness Camp offers you the chance to get up close and personal with the amazing wildlife that exists in the bush. This area is absolutely fantastic for sightings of elephants, giraffes, hippos, zebras, lions, leopards, and so much more! You’ll spend your days on game drives, or on a walking safari which can be catered directly to your interests, whether that’s tracking game, following specific species such as Wild Dogs, or just observing animal behavior. Walking opens up a completely different aspect of bush, and is an experience you don’t want to miss! When you’re not on safari, spend your days lounging on your private veranda, gazing out over the vast expanse of wilderness you have the privilege of exploring. The kids will love to splash around in the river, and you can also arrange to go on a rafting adventure, or cast out a line. Everyday at Laikipia is an adventure, with no set routines or boredom in sight!

Laikipia is like nowhere else in Africa, offering you miles and miles of unfenced wilderness, beautiful scenery, and wildlife you won’t see anywhere else! Experience it all in an authentic and luxurious manner!

Great Safari Experience

Very charming staff: Iona is always carrying for guests. Oli, Jasper and Steven will find you all a game drive has to offer. Lepards, elephants, hippos, wilddogs, Grevys, zebras, birds, porcepic, gazelles and so on...even lions. Steve will manage the team and cook BBQ meet to perfection. Very nice to eat outside in a different place for lunch and sometime at night too. You can even sleep on the bush. The tent could be a bit more furnished or cozy, but you have it all needed to spend a great time on a safari. Stars are very bright at night! Bring some hot clothes in July cause nights can be chilly. I recommend...plus its a malaria free region and the scenery is amazing. Ph”
