A pretty stone cottage in a protected area of outstanding natural beauty, just minutes walk from one of the best beaches in Brittany.

Featured in numerous Newspapers, The Times also chose this house as one of the ’20 Best Seaside Villas in Europe’.

Lostmarc’h is a tiny hamlet of original stone cottages set back slightly from the stunning beaches of Lostmarc’h and La Palue. Utterly unspoilt, (the whole village is listed) this area takes in all the wild beauty of the Atlantic and the Crozon peninsula. The bustling seaside towns of Morgat and Crozon are only 3km away so all amenities are on your doorstep.

Lostmarch is a stylish stone cottage which has been completely renovated to make the house as comfortable and luxurious as possible. The house has high quality fittings and finishings, and a calm, relaxed decor. There is a good size garden with a wooden terrasse from which you can admire the panoramic views of the sea, whilst eating your croissants for breakfast! We have tried to use natural, or recuperated products as much as possible. For example, one bedroom has bedside tables made from a fallen 14th century oak from Kistinic, the kitchen is solid wood, a bedhead is made from an ancient Breton ‘lit-clos’ and there is even a driftwood barrier on the mezzanine, all collected after the storms from Lostmarc’h beach! All of the ground floor is finished in a hand-applied, smoothed decorative concrete, and there is underfloor heating throughout. The two recent bathrooms have high end fittings and are decorated with mosaic.

The living room has two large sofas with Kenzo cushions and has a 42″ plasma TV with a Dobly DTS 5.1 cinema system. The house has WiFi throughout.

All three bedrooms have extremely comfortable beds with Egyptian cotton linen and there are sea views from all three. The upstairs double has it’s own ensuite bathroom.

Sitting room – Comfortable and cosy with large L Shaped Sofa. DVD player with large HD 42 inch plasma screen and high quality hifi that provides genuine 5 speaker cinema sound. HD satellite receiver provides both French and international channels.
Kitchen and Dining area – High quality kitchen with top quality Siemens Fridge freezer and diswasher and extra large range cooker. Dining table with seating for six.
Large bathroom with Starck taps and large sink unit, WC and full size bath with rain shower.
Utility Room with washing machine and tumble dryer.
Double bedroom with Kingsize (160cm) bed – with open log fire (sorry not in use) and direct sea views.

There are two separate first floors;

Village end

Bedroom two – Super Kingsize double bed (180cm) with small bathroom, sink unit and WC. This is accessed via a staircase from the kitchen. Indirect sea view
Beach end

Bedroom three – Two single beds. This is accessed via a large staircase in the downstairs double bedroom, i.e. you have to pass through the downstairs double to get to the upstairs twin.
Travel cot is provided
The bedrooms all have natural flooring, high quality beds, white cotton bedlinen, and duvets.

This is accessed by a steep staircase a great place to relax or the kids to play games (but little ones need to be watched). It has an indirect view onto the beach.

We also provide 2 new, very high quality hybrid mountain bikes, so no excuses for not exploring!

Lostmarc’h is supplied with 100% green, fully renewable electricity and is equipped with WiFi.

Lostmarc’h is a tiny listed village set at the end of the Crozon peninsula, on the beautiful Cap de La Chevre, in a highly protected area of natural beauty. There are only a handful of authentic stone cottages here, and new construction has been forbidden for many decades.

The house is situated at the end of a small lane, and is one of the last houses before the sea. A footpath leads directly from our garden to the cliffs and the beaches of Lostmarch and La Palue. We feel that these are amongst the very best beaches in Finistere, totally unspoilt and clean.

All this peaceful beauty can be enjoyed whilst being just 3km from the bustling seaside town of Morgat. Here you will find a huge variety of restaurants and shops and a large, sandy beach excellent for small children. There is also a port, and boat trips to see the caves.

For larger supermarkets, visit Crozon, another 2km further on, that also has large sport shops, fuel, etc.

Camaret is a pleasant harbour town; in fact the whole coastline of the Crozon is beautiful and interesting.

The fabulous, Mediterranean style beaches of Ile Vierge are just 3km from the house. They are a collection of sheltered coves of large rounded pebbles, with crystal clear topaz water and beautiful scenic cliff walks.

Trips further afield could include, Locronan, Quimper, Douarnenez, and Oceanopolis at Brest.

Didn't make it there but hope to one day!

I unfortunately had to cancel my trip at the last minute. I can review the property but I can review the owner's and their wonderful response to all of my questions over the last few months. They were wonderful and provided loads of information to me. When I had to cancel they graciously offered to try and work with me on an alternate date. I wasn't able to commit but I would gladly (and hopefully will) give up keys sometime in the future to visit their property.”

LOst Marc'h

The cottage is lovely, comfortable, and fitted with everything one could need. We were two couples and we couldn't have had a better time. The house is just a few minutes walk from one of the loveliest beaches I have ever seen and even in the first week of October, when we were there, the water was warm enough for swimming. There are wonderful walks to take, interesting small ports to visit, and abundant good restaurants in easy reach. Lost Marc'h is a treasure.”
