Experience 7 Nights/8 Days on a very special luxury golf-cruise voyage onboard Azamara Club Cruises for an exceptional golf and sightseeing voyage from New York to Charleston, Savannah and Bermuda on board the outstanding Azamara Journey. Cruise departs from New York City the day before the 83rd Masters begins in Augusta. The first order of business is complete relaxation with a day at sea, a great way to decompress and to familiarize yourself with the vessel. Arrive into Charleston after lunch on Day 2 where you will remain until Day 4 so you’ll have approximately two days to enjoy one of the most charming and historic coastal cities on the East Coast. Next you will set sail for Savannah, arriving early in the morning with a full day ahead before the ship departs for Bermuda. Golfing opportunities will be exceptional beginning with The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island, host to the famous 1991 Ryder Cup known as the “War on the Shore.” Play The Club at Savannah Harbor by renowned lowcountry architect Robert Cupp who collaborated on this layout with none other than Sam Snead. In Bermuda, you'll make the rounds on the two best layouts on the island at Port Royal and the Mid Ocean Club. Professional golf-cruise staff will be on board and ashore to oversee all aspects of your golf experience from daily pairings to the handling of your golf clubs. Many guests onboard will be golfing couples along with a number of individuals who are golfers travelling with a non-golfing spouses, so all are welcomed onboard. In addition to the fabulous on board facilities, a selection of Azamara Land Discoveries® are offered in each port.

About The Ship - Azamara Journey:
On board, guests will be absolutely spoiled. The 690-passenger (410 crew) Journey is large enough to provide every comfort and amenity; outstanding restaurants and bars, an exceptional full service spa, an excellent variety of evening entertainment. Yet she is small enough to provide an intimate, clubhouse style experience while comfortably navigating smaller harbours. In addition to “normal” cruise features, all soft drinks, specialty coffees, boutique daily wines, and a choice of select standard beers and cocktails are inclusive within the cruise fare, as are all gratuities. Forty-four suites are available on Journey attended by English trained butler service. If you are inclined to vacation luxuriously, we recommend you make your arrangements without delay because the suites will routinely book first.

DAY 1 - APRIL 10th 2018: NEW YORK
Embark the Azamara Journey from 1:00PM onwards. Welcome Cocktails & briefing this evening and a chance to meet your fellow participants. Overnight onboard.

DAY 2 - APRIL 11th: AT SEA
An entire day at sea. No golf. No sightseeing. No worries. Here’s your chance to reset your well-being gauge with the help of four restaurants plus cafes and lounges, a pool, sun decks, a spa, fitness center, jogging track, hair salon, shops, casino and cabaret lounge. Azamara’s clubhouse style ambience provides a hybrid of luxury and big-ship cruising with every amenity presented in an intimate setting with superb service. Note that the best cocktails are found along with the best views on Deck 10 in the Living Room where you can admire the Murano glass and gaze out the floor-to-ceiling windows. Overnight onboard.

DAY 3 - APRIL 12th: CHARLESTON, SC
Morning at sea with lunch time arrival into Charleston. Home to Rhett Butler and the fabled battery, mother to the Civil War and gateway to the low country, Charleston holds a special place in the American imagination. The yesteryear backdrop of all the magnificent antebellum houses along with nearly 400 churches whose spires punctuate the skyline in every direction come to mind of course but the buzz these days about this port city of fewer than 150,000 is the food. It is routinely top ten, commonly compared to New Orleans, even #1 on Condé Nast’s 2016 Reader Survey. Better yet its growing. Charleston City Market has been wonderfully renovated. King Street is now the embodiment of a new, saccharine-free, worldly, even cheeky Southern charm. Being on a peninsula, offering views in almost every direction, rooftop bars are the rage. One of the best is at the Market Pavilion Hotel with panoramic views of the harbor and a menu of “M” drinks: mojitos martinis and margaritas. There are dozens of restaurants. Husk is found in a stately downtown mansion where Southern traditions are celebrated with crispy chicken skin and plenty of pork. At Fig, lead by Beard medalist, you’ll get Lowcountry love with slow-baked Beeliner snapper and suckling pig confit. Soul food fuses with Pan-Asian flavors at Xiao Bao Biscuit, but the no-frills, meat-and-three mecca is pink-painted Martha Lou’s Kitchen up north.
Enjoy Charleston on your own or via Azamara Land Discoveries excursion. Overnight: In Port – Charleston, South Carolina

DAY 4 - APRIL 13th: CHARLESTON & LATER AT SEA
A second day in port to enjoy Charleston.....
GOLFERS: We debated whether or not to include The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island because it’s a beast. Its also one of the best in the game, world 44 according to Golf Digest, so, we’re on. We’ll play it forward and hope for gentle breeze. Built in 1991 by Pete Dye on the eastern-most end of Kiawah Island, The Ocean Course has more seaside holes than any other course in the Northern Hemisphere – 10 right along the Atlantic with the other 8 running parallel to those. It was originally designed to sit behind the dunes, but Dye's wife Alice, suggested raising the entire course to allow unobstructed views of Kiawah’s beautiful Atlantic coastline from every hole. It was done, and the views are wonderful, but not without a price. It can get windy. Overnight spent onboard at sea.

DAY 5 - APRIL 14th: SAVANNAH, GA
Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Forrest Gump & famous River Street....welcome to Savannah with her grand old mansions, green parks with fountains and statues along with huge, ancient live oaks draped in spooky Spanish moss. We’ll be here from 7:00AM to 10:00PM and on a Sunday which promises to be a little less rambunctious than a Friday or Saturday which is perfect. Savannah was founded in 1733 as America’s first planned city. General James Edward Oglethorpe designed his capital as a series of neighborhoods centered around 24 squares. They make up the Historic District today where you can meander under the canopy for hours passing all manner of restaurants, shops and glorious historic homes. At the center is Chippewa Square home to Savannah’s nightlife and famous for the “box of chocolates” park bench scenes where Forrest tells his story to anyone who will listen. The city was badly damaged during the Civil War but it wasn’t burned. Sherman delivered it intact to President Lincoln as a Christmas gift. The local food scene is thriving. Try Local 11ten, a bank restored into a restaurant that’s reimagining Southern cuisine with local seafood and vegetables. The Collins Quarter is an Aussie-inspired cafe in a gorgeous setting of cherry-red banquettes, white-marble tabletops, soaring ceilings, exposed-brick walls and mosaic-tiled floors. Savannah is also a great place for Memphis-style barbecue now that the Streamline Diner has opened across the street from Forsyth Park in a vintage diner car. Enjoy Charleston on your own arrangements or via Azamara Land Discoveries excursion.
GOLFERS: Home to the Legends of Golf Champions Tour event from 2003-2013, The Club at Savannah Harbor is a Robert Cupp collaboration with none other than Sam Snead. That means you will be tempted, or taunted, continuously by decisions to risk for reward. The putting surfaces have gentle transitions to different pin locations, making them more traditional than modern. There are subtle roll-offs or collars that fall away, a feature of golf courses from the 1930s and 40s. It can stretch to 7,288 but the fairways are generous and the course is protected in many spots by trees. The views of the wetlands are phenomenal plus Savannah's famous River Street is seen across the river. This is Slammin’ Sammy Snead true to form, good fun and a lot of personality.
Overnight onboard at sea.

DAY 6 - APRIL 15th: AT SEA
Another carefree day at sea. Relax within the sanctuary of The Sanctum Spa - a world-class facility offering a full range of health, beauty, and restorative treatments. Beyond the spa, there is a complete health and wellness program including complimentary fitness and nutrition classes plus a gym equipped with the latest exercise equipment. Personal training is available at an additional cost as are nail and hair service, even acupuncture. Partake of any of the ship's day activities or just relax and watch the world go by. Overnight onboard at sea.

DAY 7 - APRIL 16th: AT SEA
Enjoy another relaxing day at sea. Overnight onboard.

DAY 8 - APRIL 17th: BERMUDA
Where the sand is pink, the water an irresistible turquoise, and the traffic in Hamilton is indeed directed by constables wearing – you guessed it – Bermuda shorts. Hamilton has its own unique style, and is full of pastel-hued historic buildings, lush parks and gardens, set alongside a natural harbor. Front St. is the pulse of Hamilton and many of the stately Victorian buildings have been converted into shops, boutiques, and restaurants where you can dine on fresh seafood or sip a ‘dark and stormy’ - Bermuda’s official drink- while watching the comings and goings of the picturesque harbor. To truly experience the beauty of Bermuda, head just outside of town to explore the scenic countryside. Other jewels of nature include illuminated caves adorned with crystal stalactites and stalagmites surrounding clear azure lakes. After just a few hours on this idyllic spot, you’ll understand why Mark Twain famously said, “You go to heaven if you want – I’d rather stay here in Bermuda.
Enjoy Hamilton on your own or via Azamara Land Discoveries excursion.
GOLFERS: Today we play the Port Royal Golf Course on the west extreme of Bermuda. Designed by world-renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1970, Port Royal has recently undergone a complete, $14.5 million renovation lead by original design team member Roger Rulewich in preparation for the 2010 PGA Grand Slam of Golf. A club that has always been found itself ranked among the best public courses you can play, now has TifEagle covering its vast, undulating greens plus a computerized irrigation system to compliment stunning views of the ocean and the island. Both signature holes are par threes. On the front nine of this 6,842 yard gem of a golf course, its No. 8 playing 213 yards straight into the ocean to an elevated green that slopes away from the tee. On the back its No. 16. This is one of the all-time best in the game; a 235 yard par three that presents two choices: the green or the ocean.
Overnight: In Port – Hamilton, Bermuda

DAY 9 - APRIL 18th: HAMILTON, BERMUDA
Another full day in Hamilton which many like to begin with a stroll along Front Street, taking in the many small shops along the way. When you reach City Hall, explore the Bermuda National Gallery with its from Bermuda, Africa and Europe. Next enjoy your walk to the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, a stunning example of Gothic Revival architecture completed in 1905. It hosts daily services open to everyone. It also offers spectacular views on the island from atop the cathedral’s tower. The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute and the Botanical Gardens are as exceptional as the fish chowder served famously at the Hog Penny Restaurant & Pub.
Enjoy Hamilton on your own or via Azamara Land Discoveries excursion.
GOLFERS: The marvelous Mid Ocean Club plays 6,549 yards over a piece of Bermuda that tosses and turns more than an unmade bed. It is one of C.B. Macdonald’s most important designs which defined island golf architecture when it opened in 921 and continue to today. The first three holes play along the Atlantic but for the most part the ocean doesn’t get in your way. No. 5 is a thrill; a 435 yard par four that tees off 90 feet above Mangrove Lake on a line of your choosing to cut off more or less of the hazard. This is when you take a wider stance, make a big slow turn and launch! Robert Trent Jones did a touch up in 1953 primarily adding length. Between 2003 and 2005, Tom Doak oversaw further modifications including a conversion of the greens to TifEagle. Mid Ocean also gets high marks for offering one of the grandest views in the game from a halfway house!
Overnight: In Port - Hamilton, Bermuda

DAY 10 - APRIL 19th: BERMUDA TO NEW YORK (AT SEA)
Enjoy a final morning in Hamilton before we depart for New York. Overnight onboard.

DAY 11 - APRIL 20th: AT SEA
Enjoy a relaxing day at sea. Here’s your last chance to enjoy the fabulous dining onboard or take in a cabaret lounge show.
