Description

Fox Fields Farm

Fox Fields Farm is located in Bar Harbor, Maine, on the western side of Mount Desert Island. With waterfront property and seventy acres of untouched land, it's perfect for family vacations, serene getaways, and weddings!

The farm has an unbeatable westward-facing ocean view (rare in Maine), providing a remarkable sunset view of distant Blue Hill. The property is encircled by horse trails and foot trails, and the cove is protected from the cold open ocean, making the water much more comfortable and swim-able than what one finds at most properties in Maine.

The main house has seven bedrooms and four bathrooms, and can easily sleep sixteen people. It includes a porch, a patio, a finished basement with a large-screen TV, a computer with Wi-Fi internet, and an unbeatable westward-facing ocean view, providing a rare and remarkable sunset in Maine.

At the top of the hill rests Fox Hill Cottage, a three-bedroom, 2-bathroom home with a private deck that provides a gorgeous view of the water and the pastures below.

Nearby airports include BHB (10 min.) and BGR (1 hour), and the drive is 5 from of Boston on the 95. It is well worth the trip, especially if you’ve never experienced Bar Harbor (15 min.) and the beautiful Acadia National Park (10 min.), one of the most visited national parks east of the Mississippi River. There are endless hiking trails and mountain biking carriage roads on the island. Alternatively, you can spend time sea kayaking, whale watching or playing some of the most enjoyable and historic ocean-front golf courses on the East Coast.

** Please note - We are happy to accept requests for Winter weeks.

Reviews

Location! Location! Location!

51 acres by the water and 10 minutes from Acadia National Park. A well stocked, seasoned house with comfortable gathering spaces inside and out for our group of 6. Tim, the owner was a big help and always good for a daily chat. Highlights were the popovers at Jordan Pond House before our walk around the Pond, Lobster roll on toasted brioche buns at Beal's.(Southwest Harbor), Red Hots on a toasted brioche at the Food Truck by Marina in Northeast Harbor. Excursions to Schoodic to see waves crashing at Schoodic Point. Fall Foliage unveiling as the week progressed finishing with a night of frost on our last night. ”

Foxfields Farm

The home is in a spectacular location. The views across the water and sunsets were memorable. It is quiet and out of the tourist hub bub of Bar Harbor. That being said, I have to say that the house is by no means luxurious. It is a little on the shabby side. We enjoyed our stay. However, the accommodations are not "luxurious". ”
