Experience 7 nights/8 days exploring by car in the picturesque countryside of Spain on this cultural heritage route, while staying in exquisitely restored historic castles, palaces, and monasteries. These historical properties are the perfect base for gastronomic indulgences as you explore these charming cities. This journey begins from Madrid; optional add-on is possible to include a few nights prior or after.

PARADORES OF SPAIN Journey Includes:

* Personal Rental Car of your choice w/CDW & taxes along with unlimited klm/miles

* 2 Nights in Toledo - at the Parador de Toledo w/Breakfast Daily included; Private Guided City Walking Tour with the Cathedral of Toledo and the Synagogue. A UNESCO World Heritage Site located just a few hours from Madrid, the city of Toledo traces its history back to Roman rule about 192 B.C. Its dramatic setting has been the subject of paintings by famous Spanish artists and its 13th century Alcazar Cathedral is a sightseeing highlight.

While driving between Toledo to Granada, we highly recommend stopping in Jaen, famous for its olive oil; visit the oldest museum solely dedicated to the production of this wonderfully healthy elixir.

* 2 Nights in Granada - at the Parador de Granada w/Breakfast Daily included; Private Guided Walking Tour of Alhambra Palace and its renowned gardens. Beautiful Granada in southern Spain is located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the confluence of three rivers. It has a long-standing Moorish heritage and is the location of the famous Alhambra citadel and palace. The city is also home to one of Spain`s most prestigious universities, giving it a vibrant night life and wonderful ambiance.

While driving between Granada to Ronda, we highly recommend a stop in Antequera to see Its historic center which offers more than 50 monuments and buildings worth seeing.

* 1 Night in Ronda - at the Parador de Ronda w/Breakfast Daily included; Private Guided Walking Tour of Ronda including the oldest bull-ring in Spain. This cosmopolitan city, with its breathtakingly beautiful setting atop a deep gorge in the Malaga province in the region of Andalusia. This gorge (El Tajo) separates the city’s circa-15th-century new town from its old town, dating to Moorish rule. Puente Nuevo, a stone bridge spanning the gorge, has a lookout offering views. New town’s Plaza de Toros, a legendary 18th-century bullring, is one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks.

While driving between Ronda to Carmona, we highly recommend stopping along the picturesque provincial villages of Arcos de la Frontera, Zhara de la Sierra and Grazalema.

* 1 Night in Carmona - at the Parador de Carmona w/Breakfast Daily included; and a traditional Flamenco Show with Tapas Dinner in historic Seville. Carmona is built on a ridge overlooking the central plain of Andalusia; to the north is the Sierra Morena, with the peak of San Cristobal to the south. The city is known for its thriving trade in wine, olive oil, grain and cattle.

While driving between Carmona to Merida, we highly recommend stopping in Zafra, a beautiful little town founded along the Silver Route during Roman Hispania. Located at the base of the Sierra de Castellar mountains, the city boasts a stunning 15th century castle which was formerly a Moorish fortress.

* 1 Night in Merida - at the Parador de Merida w/Breakfast Daily included. Founded in 25 B.C., Mérida has rightly earned its title as a World Heritage Site. It boasts an ensemble of impressive Roman sites. The city’s name evolved from its original one of Emerita Augusta, which means Army of Augustus. Mérida, also referred to as “mini Rome,” was designated by the Emperor for Roman legionnaires and their families. Explore the Roman theater, amphitheater, and Temple of Diana. Enjoy your final evening indulging in this unforgettable Spanish city that offers fantastic cuisine.

The following morning, return to Madrid or head to Lisbon or perhaps further south to the Costa del Sol beaches. Drop off rental car wherever you wish and end your journey or continue onward.
