Experience 7 nights/8 days exploring classical mainland Greece filled with mouth-watering gastronomy and eye-opening ancient sights including the first modern capital and the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Experience Athens, the cradle of the Western Civilization; then journey on a self-drive discovery through olive and citrus groves of the scenic countryside to Nafplion, a beautiful seaport town and the capital of Greece from 1821-1831, which is located in the eastern Pelepoennese area. Continue onward to ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games, before traveling to Delphi, site of the famous oracle. Finish up your vacation with one last night in Athens.

ITINERARY In Brief:
DAY 1 - ATHENS:
You will be met upon exiting the customs area at Athens’ Eleftherious Venizelous International Airport by your guide/driver who will be holding a sign with your name on it, for a private transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the afternoon walking around this ancient city taking in its sights and sounds. In the evening stroll into the Plaka district for some local nightlife and dining.
DAY 2 - ATHENS:
After breakfast you will be picked up in your hotel lobby for your Private Guided Tour for city-sightseeing & the Acropolis Museum. The striking contrast between breathtaking monuments of a glorious past and modern, elegant structures of the present is what you will enjoy during your tour of Athens. Visit the Acropolis, the crowning beauty and glory of Ancient Athens, with its many monuments atop its rocky plateau, including the awesome Parthenon, the Propylea, the temple of Athena Nike and the Erechtheion, with its Porch of Maidens. Drive to the Roman Temple of Olympic Zeus, the Panathinaikon Stadium (site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896), the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament House on Constitution Square. See views of government buildings and elegant structures of the 19th century. Drive along Panepistimiou Avenue and view the Catholic Cathedral, the Academy, University, National Library. In contrast, conclude your tour with a visit to the new Acropolis museum, a marvel of contemporary architecture with a full exhibition of the glory of Ancient Athens. This evening enjoy dinner at Kuzina Restaurant where the cuisine is perfectly coupled with the charming atmosphere of modern and traditional Greek character. Savor authentic Grecian culinary dishes while tasting wonderful local wines or a refreshing beer. (Breakfast & Dinner included this day)
DAY 3 - ATHENS to CORINTH:
After breakfast, pick up your rental car and drive towards Corinth. After crossing the famous canal, head for Nafplion, where you’ll check into your hotel. Remainder of the afternoon and evening at leisure. (Breakfast included this day)
DAY 4 - NAFPLION:
Explore on foot this ancient town, having been ruled at different times by the Venetians and the Turks, which boasts three castle-fortresses from different eras, each worth visiting. Stroll through the historic Old Town, admiring the Venetian palaces, Turkish mosques and the unique blend of ancient and modern architecture. Sit by the sea watching a classical sunset and enjoy dinner at your leisure. (Breakfast included this day)
DAY 5 - OLYMPIA:
Today drive across the historic Peloponnesian Peninsula to Olympia. The most celebrated sanctuary of ancient Greece, this is the birthplace of the Olympic Games. The archaeological site is very large and rich in sites to visit, including the athletes’ training facilities, gymnasium, and dining halls, as well as several temples and beautiful statues from antiquity. Evening free to relax and dine as you wish. (Breakfast included this day)
DAY 6 - DELPHI:
After breakfast at your hotel, drive towards the important ancient religious sanctuary of Delphi, sacred to the God Apollo. The ancient Greeks regarded Delphi as the center of the world. When faced with problems, they traveled there to ask questions of the famous oracle. Visit the ruins of the Temple of Apollo and the athletic stadium, among other important sites. The evening is free to relax and dine as you wish. (Breakfast included this day)
DAY 7 - DELPHI to ATHENS:
After breakfast and a last look at Delphi, drive to Athens, where you’ll return your rental car and enjoy one last day in this capital city. Enjoy a finale dinner at one of the best Athenian tavernas with live bouzouki music and traditional folklore dancing performance. (Breakfast & Dinner w/Performance included this day)
