Keys are the currency of ThirdHome. All weeks are assigned a “Key-value,” based on a number of factors such as value, location, size, and seasonality. Keys (travel credits) allow you to reserve luxury stays within the Club and are earned when you make time in your second home or resort available for a given week.
We only allow second homes and resort or residence club properties in the most desirable destinations that are well-appointed and have a minimum home value of $1 million. We maintain an exclusive club and a reciprocal benefits program that enables our members to truly get out what they put in.
In addition to features in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Forbes, ThirdHome has collected over 18,000 5-Star user reviews since launching in 2010.
While availability is entirely up to our members adding weeks in their homes, there are always several thousand available weeks at any given time. Members can access private homes, 5-star resorts, boutique hotels, yachts, and even private islands.
ThirdHome is free to join. Annual dues of $295 (USD) are required after your first year of membership, but only if you travel in that given year.
When booking a stay through ThirdHome, you pay an exchange fee ranging from $495 – $1,995 depending on the number of Keys required to book that specific week. Members save 90% over standard rental rates.
The type of residence you own and the desirability of the specific week(s) you add determine how many Keys you will earn. The Base Key value has been set for all residence types. A Non-Peak week earns the Base value. Peak weeks give you double value and Super Peak earns triple value.
The typical stay with ThirdHome is seven nights, however, you can always stay fewer nights if you choose.
For simplicity, the owner of the second home always pays the departure cleaning fee.
Neither. We are a non-simultaneous private exchange that only involves upscale residences. This exchange model enables our members to book stays immediately and creates the most outstanding availability of any exchange club in the industry. In addition, ThirdHome is more desirable because members must have a second home or a uniquely qualified primary home to join the Club, creating trust and accountability between members.
